The Big Friendly Measuring Challenge!

This week, we have been working hard on multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000. Across year five and six, we have been working with decimals and whole numbers, converting between metric measurements and even solving tricky word problems involving all of these skills!
On Thursday, we deepened our skills when we were set the Big Friendly Measuring Challenge! Using all of the skills we had learned this week, we had to problem solve to work out the exact measurements of the 24 foot (3.72 metre) BFG- from his enormous feet, right up to his ‘extra-usual’ ears! We worked hard solving number and worded problems throughout the morning.
We were then set the challenge to use our team work and measuring skills to create him- see the incredible result below!
